This website is solely dedicated to independent artists, crafters and designers. Jessica Dougherty launched Funky Finds in 2006, which was initially a blog where she shared cool and funky products available online. Almost a year later she started offering paid advertising spots, and that is how the website kicked off.

They also have a sister concern site: 'Right On Graphics', where they design postcards, logos, magnets and website banners at a reasonably affordable price. This helps in making a newbie's task easier, especially if they come from non-technical background.

Funky Finds is very passionate about artists who craft what they love; they do not encourage mass produced goods. Below is a brief overview of the site:

The Shops @ Funky Finds: Here you can buy or sell products. The site does not take any sales fee, all the profit goes to the seller; they simply charge you on monthly basis depending on the number of products you want sell. For example: in order to open a 'Cruiser Shop' you will have to pay $3.99 per month and sell 50 products with 6 categories.

Weekly Giveaways: In order to promote your products you can giveaway some of your stuff which will be featured on Funky Finds for a specific period of time. But why would you wanna giveaway stuff? Because once a buyer clicks on the 'giveaway' button, he/she will be directed to your site, where they have to choose a favorite item from your collection and comment about it (then they will be registered for the lucky draw). This way you will end up marketing your site and other products.

Who's a Funky Find: On this page you will one of their featured seller with a direct link to your site or blog. You can also request them to feature you, but in the bargain you will have to post a 'funky find' banner on your site/blog.

Overall it is an interesting site which promises success to small business owners who create funky or out of the box products. From what I've noticed, they follow a simple policy of “You scratch my back and I will scratch yours”; in other words, lets promote each other and both will be benefited.
