One of the world's largest bookseller has decided to present a promising opportunity for writers who wish to sell their work online.

Independent publishers or self-publishing writers can reach a much wider audience through a recent service launched by Barnes & Noble called PubIt.

The market for digital content is rising rapidly and authors ought to keep up with growing demand, hence B&N is providing such a platform that will allow authors to store books directly on their eBook store.

The service allows you to upload and convert your book into ePub, this format is then sold on Barnes & Noble.com and the Barnes & Noble eBookstore.

"Come publish with the world's #1 bookseller and have your work and words accessible to millions of consumers who will be able to browse, sample, buy and download the digital content in seconds to their devices with free BN eReader software." announced B&N on their blog recently.

Apart from Nook B&N's eReader network includes various devices like iPhone, Blackberry, iPad, PC and Mac.

Although you will have to wait a little longer, since the service is yet to be launched, according to B&N, PubIt will be available in summers; coincidently around the same time when Amazon would be introducing its Kindle app for androids.
