A common question that pops up for our users is when they need to change the button code we provide. Some would assume that you would do so whenever any change is made to the product, but that is not the case.
Most of your product settings within E-junkie are just that, they are within our system. With most of your product details setup in our back-end, it saves you a lot of time when it comes to the coding of your purchase buttons. The price, the name, shipping settings, and so forth are part of the information that we hold in our server.
So when should you change your buttons code?
One of the times to do this is if you want to customize the buttons, for example if you want to have your own button image instead of the one that we provide. Or if you want to include a custom variable.
Other times that you will need to change the button code is if you change options when using our Variant or Variation features. Those changes actually change the code that we provide and you will
need to copy and paste the new code from E-junkie to your website.
need to copy and paste the new code from E-junkie to your website.
You will also need to change the button code if you change the product's item number while editing your product.
The final time would be if you are using our Name Your Own Price feature and you change your minimum or suggested price.
At no point will you need to re-copy and paste the View Cart button code. The View Cart button code is going to be the same no matter what; even when you go to the page in your E-junkie account to get the button codes, the View Cart button code is the same no matter which product you select.
We aim to make our system easy to use, which as you can see includes only making you change your button codes when you need to, instead of after any change to your product.
