We all have heard about collaborations, artists collaborating with other artists or their kids but have you ever heard about an artist collaborating with insects that too honeybees.

Canadian artist, Aganetha Dyck for years has been working with bees to transform porcelain figurines and other objects with honeybees' wax honeycomb into wonderful pieces of art by placing them in specially designed apiaries and leaving them for weeks, sometimes months.

Aganetha has been working with honeybees for over 20 years now and through her artwork she explores our relationship with them and also draws our attention towards the decrease in the number of honeybees and how it's affecting the crop farmers.

According to her website she is an artist "who is interested in environmental issues, specifically the power of the small. She is interested in inter species communication. Her research asks questions about the ramifications all living beings would experience should honeybees disappear from earth."

FYI, Aganetha's work will be on display in an exhibition, Honeybee Alterations that would be held at the Ottawa School of Art in March.
