We have seen accessories made with all sorts of things like wood, shells, alloys/metal and even disgusting stuff like bones and teeth but I bet you have seen nothing like what we are about to show you.
London-based jewelry artist Frances Wadsworth-Jones found a rather unique inspiration for her jewelry and that is pigeon dropping.
Not that Frances actually uses pigeon droppings to make jewelry, it's just that her brooches resemble pigeon droppings in shape, size and color.
Frances has just launched a new line of brooches called 'Heaven Sent'. These brooches have been made using crushed semi-precious and precious gems like black diamonds, sapphires and tourmaline.
If you look at these brooches they look like splattered pigeon droppings.
According to Frances this idea hit upon her in 2008 when she traveled from Ealing to the Royal College of Art, where she studied. "I like to try and find beauty in the unexpected and I quite often look at the floor. Ealing is great for inspiration."
Ask Frances what's the craziest thing about making these brooches, "People must think I'm mad because I have to take pictures of poo too. I've got hundreds."
"The stain is very intimate, something that you wouldn't want and you're turning it into something beautiful," she shares bout her work.
