A great chatroom is a place where people can find comfort while receiving the information they sought for without worrying about being flooded by spam. And with a tool like that on a site, providing quality customer service would simply be a piece of cake. Such tool goes by the name of Chatwing, and it even does more than that. And what's more amazing is that anyone can use this and embed it easily on their site.

Here's a simple tutorial in doing so.

Registration

First and foremost, is having a Chatwing account. All you need to do is complete a simple registration form that will only ask for an email and a password. You'll be headed automatically to the next step after that.

Dashboard

The Dashboard is where you get access of the chatrooms you've created so far. This is also the place where you can create new ones too. The preview window on the side lets you view the status of the chatrooms you've chosen – whether they're live or not. Since this is your first time, you don't have any other chatroom other than a default one that is supplied to you. Use that and press the Customize Chatroom.

Customization

As said, what you have now is a default chatroom. For you to able to maximize its efficiency, you'll need to modify it first in the Customization page. This is where you'll be spending most of your time in making your chatroom since you'll be modifying it down to its very last detail. The process is divided into tabs with each changing a specific part of the chatroom.

  • Group Chat URL – supplies you with a URL link for the chatroom so you can access it directly using web browser.
  • Embedded Options – provides HTML code for the chatroom that you can use to embed it on your site.
  • Popout Options – provides you with HTML code for the Popout icon that will open a new window (with the chatroom inside) once clicked.
For now, choose the Embedded Options tab. You'll be seeing two scroll bars, another preview window and a bunch of HTML codes below. The first thing you need to do is adjust the size of the chatroom using those scroll bars – you'll see the changes on the preview window. It will determine the actual size of the chatroom once it goes up on your site.

No need to worry since there's some additional instructions written to make sure you'll do the embedding process just fine. After everything's done, simply refresh your browser – the chatroom will be sitting there in your web page, ready for everyone to use.

Note: There are some cases in which your site won't support Javascript or you're not allowed to embed one. In that case, simply replace the Javascript code with the iFrame one to make it work.

This chat software is great in providing customer support through live chat. Your viewers can easily ask you questions about your products or everything about the site and you can send out your replies instantly. The chatroom is complimented with its other features and also protected from spam and other nuisances through its security functions so you can be sure you and your chatters will have a good time using it. Lastly, Chatwing is going to give you all that for free.
