Believe it or not, Facebook is currently testing the auto-play video function on mobile feeds.

Saving the users of the trouble of tapping every time when they want to play a video in their news feed, Facebook would soon be automatically playing videos as the user would scroll down his news feed.

According to Kelly Mayes, Product Manger at Facebook, "Today we're starting to test an easier way to watch videos on Facebook. Now when you see a video in News Feed, it comes to life and starts playing."

This auto-play video function is nothing new, there are ample of websites out there that already have this function. For most users this auto-play video function is annoying as the videos begin to play at the default volume of the device (which most of the time is too loud to handle) for example - YouTube and the Vine videos. And in case you are wondering that same would be the case with this function then here's a good new for you. For a few seconds the videos would play without sound and the moment you tap on the video playing on your device's screen, the video would begin to play with sound and in full screen.

Moreover, in case you are worried about seeing those annoying video ads playing in your news feed, worry not, right now Facebook is only planning to show the users auto-play videos that would come from their friends and from the musicians and bands that they are following. But lets not forget the fact that the major part of Facebook's revenue is from ads, so you can soon expect to see ads auto-playing in your news feed as well.

Currently, this feature is rolled out only for a few users and the rest of the world would be able to use it in the coming weeks on their device.
