Apart from being a federal holiday, that is observed on the first September every year that honors the contribution and achievement of the American workers, Labor Day also signifies the unofficial end of the summers.

Had the men and women in 1882 not organized and participated in the first Labor Day parade, our working conditions today would have been entirely different.
