One of the oldest employees on Microsoft's payroll announced his retirement from the industry on August 23rd, 2013. Steve Ballmer has for the score of his 33 years at Microsoft been a man of flamboyance.

The Detroit born Steve has been a close associate of Bill Gates since the 1980s when he was hired as the first business manager for the tech firm. There on he has held multiple portfolios - Senior VP of Sales & Support, Senior VP of systems software, Senior VP of Marketing and CEO of Microsoft since 2000.

As he announced his adieu via a swift mailer his parting lines - "I love this company" was so unlike his usual articulate self. Known for his antics and wordplay in openly criticizing his rivals, Ballmer has been the apple in the media's eye for quite sometime. Be it his "Mr. Monkey Boy" fiasco or his opinions about Apple's iPad sales, he has been in quite some sticky moments.

Despite the obvious criticism that has come his way, Ballmer's personality cult will never be forgotten. His touchdown landmarks in Microsoft's history include famous acquisitions like Skype, the introduction of the cloud computing technology and increasing the revenue coffers to a tune of $70 billion.

As the Big Man of Microsoft is soon to be leaving his post, the rush for appointing the next potential successor is already underway. Microsoft, a company, which has seriously changed its trajectory from "company's PC-first heritage"  to "talent-hoarding fiefdoms", Ballmer's exit will mark the end of an era.

Here's a look at the Steve Ballmer most flamboyant media goof up moments through some viral videos. Call him crazy, call him overconfident but he never has been boring to the audiences who watch him.
