"The one thing we’re trying to focus on for the consumer is saving them time and making them more efficient by doing things for them. The app isn’t supposed to be an uber app that does everything other apps already do; it’s just meant to help us better manage the things we care about, he says. We try to pick up the things that fall between the cracks of other apps."

That's the mission statement Mikael Berner and Hetal Pandya started off EasilyDo with in 2011.

Housed in Mountain View, California, the founding team comes with illustrious credentials. Mikael was the former CEO at BeVocal , an company that is known for speech recognition systems, while Hetal was a former director at Nuance. A lucky collaboration of both the firms is what brought together the founding duo.

With similar backgrounds in customer self-service, their idea was to give customers a simple and uncomplicated app that typically helps one multi-task everyday things. With the expansion of smartphone technology every day, there is no shortage of technically superior apps in the market that make things happen. However, the aim here was to focus on the ordinary, simple tasks.

EasilyDo, as the name suggests, offers some easy-to-accomplish manageable tasks. To achieve that technical finesse in a market where there are dozens of apps to choose from had been an ongoing process for the founders. "Our mission is to create elegant solutions that save people time and delight them with convenience."

His team of 20 engineers, based in China mostly worked meticulously for six months to work out the app's basic architecture. Currently available on both iOS and Android, the app offers 30+  "Do It" tasks from something as simple as setting reminders, alerts, conference calls, syncing your LinkedIn, Facebook profiles for convenience, merging/ duplicating contact lists,  sending pre-typed messages to friends, tracking restaurant , cinema reservations so on and so forth.  In fact , it is known that the company releases a new "Do It" every week on its blog.

Some of its features are fairly similar to other personal assistant-like apps available on Android and Google such as the navigation tool. However, the app is worth a try for those who want to go a little unconventional.

The app was a venture that is backed by some tech stalwarts like Facebook, Nuance, US Venture Partners, Mayfield and the  CEO of HotelTonight. As active contributors to the app's start up, an amount of $4.3 million was collectively raised. The EasilyDo team launched their app simultaneously on iPhone, iPad and iPod in December of 2012 while the Android version is fairly a recent addition - May 2013.

What we liked the most about the app is the simple actions that it helps out with. Moreover the success of the app is self evident in the way it has manged to reach out to the people in such a short time span. We hope to see a lot more additions to the initial interface in the coming years.

Though their app seems to be promising, their product video could have been better. Also, the pricing of the app was not mentioned in the article, that would have helped.

It is a great App indeed and we agree that the promotional video could have been better as it shows only a minimalistic featureset of what can be accomplished with the App. But our guess would be that they did this to keep the video short and sweet and to the point. People who are more serious about downloading the App can read up more detailed information about the App on the Google play and iTunes download pages for the App. By the way as of now the App is FREE for download. Hope this information helps. Cheers Parth!
