As per popular predictions, it is said that the mobile usage ratio this year is likely to surpass all desktop devices.

What this means is that businesses have a lot more to do so far as capturing the audience attention is concerned. Just like the avenues to access information is increasing, so are the ways to deliver it.

The catch phrase one is looking for here is "responsive design". This implies that online businesses have to create brand modules and content that is strictly in adherence to customer requirements. Moreover it has be interactive and fluid - that is compatible to read on any mobile device.

While a large part of this business is centered on the work of web developers and graphic designers, content writers are often a forgotten entity. They play a key sidekick role, that goes unnoticed. With the expansion of smartphone technology, writers at all levels have to modify the content they are creating in the post-PC era.

Let's not take this as a disadvantage in any way. Rather, the scope of spreading one's thoughts in a uninhibited form is being offered here. The relatively new devices are more user-friendly than before and the written word can now be proseltyized in more than one way. This is a phenomena that is coming to be dubbed as the "cross device reality".

1. Structure

Now this is a little technical fact. When a user reads content on a desktop browser and a smartphone, there is a different text adaptibility on work. A smartphone/ tab always tends to shrink the text size. The key for content creators is to concentrate on things like the paragraph size. This is in no way a stopper to the length or breadth of your thoughts but alterations have to be incorporated.

While writers largely rely on their written word for promotions, the turf is fast changing as reliance on technology to choreograph the content is becoming inevitable. Structuring one's content is almost lik e designing a home - things have to be placed at appropriate corners to bring the right effect and easy maneouverings.  Your online business page should have structured links, navigation keys and search bars for the requisite content to be read by the visitors.

2. Break Tag

Doing a little research has shown me that adding a break tag for a browser reading is a whole lot different than that for the smatrphone devices. The areas of keynote are post titles and graph. The break functions varies from device to device and may make your content look shabby to the reader. So it is best to avoid unnecessary break tags while not forgetting to attach them at the right places.

3. Theme-based approach

We spoke of responsive design earlier. The previous points centred on simple formatting issues. Writers for online businesses have to work on their content interfaces and visual quality as well. It is best to assume that the reader is a person with unwanted demands. A good content writing site will always center on quantity and quality both. Adaptable content caters to consumer moods, tastes and interest. Added to the professional programmer's work, there are content management businesses that help you tailor the content being created. In fact, Google too has sounded its opinion in this regard- "they prefer Responsive Designs to secondary mobile sites, as this keeps users on a single website". WordPress is also a good example here that offers compatible plug-in options, catering to mobile and desktop browsers alike.

4. Modular Combinations

Content creators and copywriters have a wide variety of text formatting options available to them nowadays. From toggles to accordion to tabs to titles, all of them can be used to choreograph the content. The easier and more catchy the modular website text design options are, the users are likely to explore your content more deeply. It's all about offering them an Olive branch to proceed further.

Responsive design is a budding concept, spoken about much but being implemented still. The idea is to make best use of technology while dispensing content in a wide digital world in a simple and readable manner.
