The Facebook Home was launched last week and in not more than a week of its launch, it is going international. Good news for all Android users!
Well, for the iOS users who were worried about not being able to use the Facebook Home, Facebook just updated its iOS app adding Facebook Home chat heads and a new news feed.
Facebook launched the Facebook Home last Friday in the US, pre-loaded on HTC First and for a selected Android handsets and according to what the Facebook CTO and VP of Engineering Mike Schroepfer and Director of Mobile Engineering Cory Ondrejka spoke about at the AllThingsD Dive into Mobile Conference in New York, it's first update would arrive in the second week of May.
They didn't share the details about the first update.
Schroepfer also mentioned that Facebook is planning to use mobile advertising to promote not only Facebook Home but its other apps as well.
For those who want to use the Facebook Home on tablets, Schroepfer shared, "We tested Facebook Home on tablets. It's a great experience. We think we may have to make some adjustments to make it work on tablets."
As for the iOS update -
The chat heads are pop-ups that appear when the user receives a new notification or a new message but only inside the Facebook app and currently, are not available to all the Facebook iOS users.
The iOS users have to wait for the next OS update so that they can use the chat heads even outside the app and various other Facebook Home features.
