It seemingly appears that kids of this generation do not love to eat their lunches unless they come gift wrapped in creativity and funk.

In a post last week, we featured a creative doodling dad - David Laferriere, who "loves to draw different characters and designs on his kids' sandwich bags."

Well isn't it the typical McDonald's age saga of funk and glitz that has captivated the children of this generation?

Today we bring for you another creative doodling parent, who just goes that extra-mile to make their kid's lunchtime not only sumptuous but 'wow' to look at too.

Since 2007, this Brooklyn based artist-cum-mom of two boys, aged 9 and 5 years old,  Nina Levy has been dabbling with her children's lunch napkins. She uses waterproof markers to make "whimsical characters and superheroes from cartoons and games on generic white napkins".

Well that's not all. Levy is particular about documenting what she creates for her sons. Her blog, the "Daily Napkins" has a collection of over 2000 of her self-created illustrations till date.

Like David, Levy too had a similar vision for her creative doodling. Something that started out as a mere "maternal indulgence", soon became a daily routine for her. She pours her heart out by saying that "I try to avoid showing them the day's napkins before we head off school or camp, because most likely revisions or a complete do-over will be demanded. I gather, however, once they are at school and I am not around to berate, that the napkins are still doing their job of providing reassurance that Mom is thinking about them, and giving them something to attract the attention of their teachers and peers".

Levy also adds that the boys are pretty much aware of what efforts that their mom takes to make their day happy. She shares that they have hundreds of napkins that the kids get back home unused.  The boys "enjoy looking through them, revisiting their previous obsessions day by day", says Levy with pride.

Here are some of the mindblowing creations by this doodling mom.

Having seen a dad and mom make so much effort to make a simple thing as lunch, such a creative endeavor, calls for a heart felt appreciation. More than art it is the bond between the child and parent that gets strengthened.

Do let us know who's creativity impressed you more - the Doodling dad David or the Creative mom Levy?
