Even before, Google finished shipping its first batch of Google Glass 'Explorer Edition' to the chosen few, the Glass is banned in many places.

Reason pretty obvious! The Glass allows the user to take pictures, record videos and access the internet hands-free, without the red blinking light which is a clear indication that the wearer is recording. And anywhere where the use of cameras and other recording devices is banned Google Glass is also banned.

If such is the situation now, then how things are going to be when the Glass is available in the market for purchase. Many people and groups have come up and shared their thoughts about the Glass and how it's going to our privacy. According to a UK campaign group, Stop The Cyborgs, "Our objective is to start debate but we also want to encourage people to keep some space free of intrusive surveillance so that people can talk and behave freely its important for society and democracy that people can chat and live without fear that they might end up being published or prosecuted."

Here is a list of places where one shouldn't be using the Google Glass:

1. Bars and Strip Clubs

Using the Glass in a bar or a strip club, the manager might show you the way to the door.

Many bars across the world have already banned the use of the Glass inside the bar. Seattle's 5 Point Cafe was the first bar that banned the use of the Glass in the establishment. According to a message that was posted on it's Facebook page somewhere in March, "For the record, The 5 Point is the first Seattle business to ban in advance Google Glasses. And [butt] kickings will be encouraged for violators." This was done to protect the identity of the customers.

Same is the case with strip clubs; in order to protect the identity of the dancers and the customers that visit the clubs, many strip clubs have banned the use of the Glass inside or even outside the club.

2. Movie Theaters

Since, the Google Glass also comes in the category of recording devices, using it inside a movie theater is banned. Furthermore, how are you going to watch a 3D movie with the Glass on.

3. Casinos

Most of us already know that taking picture inside a casino is banned, this is done to prevent the people from cheating and it's also done to protect the identity of the people. Google Glass is banned at all casinos in Las Vegas, reports the NBC News. According to spokesperson for MGM Resorts, "This new product is nothing new in terms of a challenge for us, because for so many years, the very tiniest of portable lipstick and pinpoint cameras have been around."

4. Driving

If you're caught driving through West Virginia with the Glass on, you might be jailed.

Don't be alarmed but something that you should know, the West Virginia state legislature has proposed an amendment banning drivers from wearing Glass on the road as it's distracting and might cause accidents.

5. Scuba Diving

Sad but true you cannot use the Glass underwater as it's not made for underwater use.

Apart from the above mentioned 5 places, where the use of the Glass is already banned, using the Glass is likely to be banned in government buildings like the White House, courtrooms, government offices and military camps.

Well, these bans are no shocker, everyone needs to protect their privacy. These are just a few places where the Glass is already banned or is likely to be banned, there are so many places more that are planning to ban the use of Glass.

What do you think about these bans? Do share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Makes sense. It's not like you can walk into a California Indian casino with a video camera. I don't quite understand the scuba diving one though, wouldn't that include pretty much all water activities then?
