Business logos are one of the most basic and fundamental components of good business branding and marketing. Without one, the whole mechanism of getting your business easily recognized becomes more difficult and less translatable to the thinking of potential customers with very short attention spans and lots of visual competition for their eyeballs from other businesses.

That said, let’s examine some fundamental reasons why you need a logo for your business as soon as you possibly can.

Professionalism

A company with a logo is automatically viewed as being more serious, established and professional. If your business is ambling along without a clear image to represent everything it stands for, a lot of customers are simply not going to identify you as a serious player and thus will ignore you regardless of what you'’re offering.

If you pay attention to virtually all the major consumer product or service sellers out there, from the multinationals right down to more successful regional or local business, you’'ll notice that they absolutely identify themselves with an unmistakable logo

Stability

This aspect of a logos value ties right into the above-mentioned image of professionalism; a company with a logo, as part of being seen as professional, is also being seen as stable –something a customer can do extended business with without worrying about a sudden cutoff of service or a bankruptcy.

By creating a logo for your business, you’'re telling others that you'’re serious enough about your company to put effort into its image, effort into trademarking that image and effort into spreading your brand. All of these indicators are clear ways of demonstrating an intention towards stable long term position.

Branding

Pretty obvious, since logos are mostly designed with this purpose in mind more than any other. Either way, the brand recognition value of your logo is completely undisputable. While having a company with a nice letterhead and catchy name are both great ideas, people identify most readily with simple, easy to remember graphic images.

Look at examples such as the now famous Nike Swoosh, the bitten apple in Apple Computer or the Windows logo from Microsoft. All of these well recognized images played a major part in raising these companies’ profiles and your own logo will do the same for you. Even if you’re not even remotely planning on one day turning your business into a Fortune 500 company, you need to create immediate brand recognition at least on a local or niche level within your industry, and a logo is the quickest, easiest way for you to do that.

Maintaining Consistency

In a way, this is a part of your overall branding objectives; by creating a distinct and catchy logo, you’ll also be creating a consistent image with which you can clearly tag all of your sales, advertising, business to business deals and communications.

If you become known for some special product or piece of PR, associating it with your logo will make sure that that log is recognized as a hallmark of your specific company every time that it’s seen by anyone who ever hears of you again. If you can create enough good associations with the logo, your ultimate result will be an automatically positive reaction in your potential and existing customers when they see your company symbol.

Intellectual Property Value

Logos can take on a life of their own and if yours generates enough popularity or fame, it will become a valuable commodity on its own. Thanks to this you can consider it a sort of long term investment that might one day pay off even more dividends by being highly salable and licensable under certain circumstances.

At the very least, it will raise the value of your general brand as a clearly identifiable part of your overall image.

More and more online stores are opening up around the world
to grab the share from customers’ wallet. One thing that has been overlooked by
many online stores is the look and feel of their website.
Having a right product or service to offer is not enough, the user interface,
functionality and design of an ecommerce website also plays a crucial role in
    attracting and retaining a customer.
