Today we bring for you an artist whose name itself has a music of its own.

Android Jones a.k.a Andrew Jones of Boulder, Colorado is a man with far reaching vistas. Not only does he help others create art, dabble with all kinds of digital media to bring out his innate ideas to the public sphere but exudes a shamanic outlook about art and life.

Passing through his works and initiatives he is part of, it is a hard exactly to quantify his work into any subjective category; its vast , informative and inspiring all at the same time! Maybe that's the precise reason why he is E-junkie's pick of the day.

His chequered artwork -"fashion design, body painting, illustration and digital performances" has a quality of its own.

Starting off at 16, Andrew joined the Alla Prima painting and fine art portraiture in Boulder. At such an early age, Jones drew inspiration to paint from the scenes surrounding the Pearl Street Mall- the  courthouses, parks and shopping scene.

Following his Euro tour to hone his skills, his first experience with real art was at ILM where he met his mentor Iain McCaig as well as other fellow artists.

In fact the groundwork to start his non profit online art community- ConceptArt.org had it roots in his early career. He began his work with George Lucas at Industrial Light and Magic, moving onto Nintendo's Retro Studios as a concept artist.

It was in 2002, that Andrew co-founded his community with Jason Manley, which has grown to a whopping 85000 users currently. Their studio- Massive Black was a "collective of 4 or 5 freelance artists working from different locations" under a single collective work space.

In his pursuit to explore the limits of art, he tries many different things. Interestingly he says "Art is just a three-letter word, a poor label for the thing itself. I wish art didn’t have a name, so every time we look at a painting we could see it with unjaded eyes".

With many featured works in magazines and art studios, Android Jones has always found his art beyond the purview of a restricted studio. He credits his friend DJ Lorin Ashton who introduced him to the fun of live performances and fests. A regualar dabbler at many live festivals, especially Burning Man, he is a regular crew member with bands like  Bassnectar, Glitch Mob, Tipper and Bluetech.

Connected to this is the Night Rainbow, a military box truck converted to a mobile art studio, co-founded with "revolutionary digital artists" like George Atherton, Jessic Pearlstein in 2011. They make live digital art using projectors on surfaces in almost all major American cities.

The thing with his art, as he himself observes is to draw an emotional connect with the audience/viewer. He believes "Bad moods make for great art...Sometimes I think there’s an unconscious part of me that sabotages my life to create the drama that will fuel a new painting".

With no restrictions on "mediums" of art, his themes dwell on enmeshing mythology, fantasy with technology. From a student of Art to a mentor for many others, his organisations offer workshops to many budding talents and fellow artists to explore art.

His latest creative endeavor is the website Illuminated, where Jones is editing, doing voice-overs "describing the process and include anything from esoteric advice on life to stories on the pieces to the techniques on how I am using Painter".

Here's a quick look at some of his innovative creations that blew our minds totally. Enjoy!
