When we talk of tablets, its usually the big giants like Google or Microsoft that reign high in the industry. But now the French device manufacturer Archos too has set out to carve its niche in the Android Tablet race. It has unveiled its latest GamePad Android tablet, named 97 Titanium HD. Well don't be bogged down by its heavy-weight name.

The 97 Titanium HD tab stands for the 9.7 inch display IPS multi-touch panel offering high resolution; besides a dual core A9 processor, 1 GB RAM and internal storage capacity of upto 8 GB, a fantastic 5-megapixel rear facing camera with a 2 megapixel front facer and running Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean". Moreover, Archos has clearly taken into account the architecture of the phone, keeping it extremely lightweight. The rear casing is just 9 mm in  thickness, seated in aluminium.
Keeping apace with the market needs and trends, Archos' device has a promising retina-like display, joining the race with Onda V972. This simply means that a high quality of  pixel-dense screen developed by small time manufacturers like Archos will surely rattle the market, currently dominated by Google and Microsoft, bringing down the prices considerably.

In addition, it also facilitates the running of all Google designed Android apps-be  it Gmail, Google Talk or Google+ and even the Google Maps to keep track of places one wants. Web pages and books can be read or downloaded using the Google Currents easily.

Well if one is not an extreme brand loyalist, this tab is surely a workable device for any user, with its quality features and budget-friendly rates. However the real catch is the manufacturers have not clearly come out with a market price, only speculations stand to be trusted until the real sales materialize.

Archos has in the past released a number of Android devices but nothing has created so much of a buzz in the industry so far. Are the big guns in the danger of being sidelined in the coming year? Well only time will tell.

We look forward to your own user experiences and any opinions about this tab. Do share them with us in the comments section below.
