On Tuesday Google unveiled some new interesting features to Gmail that allows users to compose an email little more conveniently.

From now on, Gmail users can write an email using the new pop-out window that incorporates photos, contacts and also changes the way emails are replied.

"How many times have you been writing an email and had to reference something in another message? Saving a draft, opening the old email, and then reopening your draft wastes valuable minutes. The new compose pops up in a window, just like chats (only larger)." shares Google's Product Manager, Phil Sharp in a blog post.

The new compose window does act as a chat window and of course saves you the trouble of returning to your draft, time and again. This also means that while composing an email you can just as easily navigate rest of the Gmail in the background.

For those who receive emails spasmodically, the pop-up compose email might come in quite handy, since one can always keep an eye on the new emails received. "And because the compose window works the same way as chats, you can write multiple messages at once and minimize a message to finish it later." shares Sharp.

Another advantage of the new compose box explained by Sharp is that it allows users to focus on drafting an email since the window is pretty much like an blank white space. "The controls are still there when you need them but get out of the way when you don’t" he adds.

As far as replying to an email is concerned, users will find some changes there as well. Firstly, replies will take less vertical height and expand as the email is written to display the entire content. While adding recipients to the email, users will be able to view profile pictures in a bar that auto-completes while adding contacts.
