Natsumi Hayashi is a teenage girl based in Tokyo. Natsumi caught attention of many bloggers out there when she posted the first photograph of her series "Today's Levitation". It uses no rocket science but Natsumi's superb creative sense and simple (or may be complex) camera technique has resulted in this super amazing series.
It appears as if Natsumi is floating mid air but of course it is not a magic technique. She jumps in the air and keep jumping till she gets the right shot. A work of labor and patience, I must say.
You'll be dumbstruck by her fine movements and controlled body language. From her facial expressions, it is hard to say that she is jumping higher than the normal height. You'll be more amazed to know as what inspired her to come up with such an idea. But first let's understand the science behind it.
"I set two cameras (Canon EOS 5D Mk2s with the same PENTAX 67 lenses) on two tripods horizontally as close as possible each other and connect extended shutter release cables to each camera", explains Natsumi.

Natsumi draws inspiration for this amazing series from an old English phrase. 'I got the idea from an English idiom that says ‘to have one's feet firmly planted on the ground,’ which applies to a practical type of person,' she said.
'In Japan, we have the exact same idiom. But I am not a practical person at all. Therefore, I try ‘not to have my feet firmly on the ground’ in my self-portrait photos to show my true self.'
Not only she created a buzz over the internet but also left hardly any corner of Tokyo where she didn't try this wonderful technique. Below are some more images where Natsumi levitates:
It's needless to say to check out her website: Yowayowacamera.com. I am sure you will surely do!

"Both cameras need to be set up with the same ISO, iris, shatter speed and white balance. Since shutter speed of both cameras are quite fast (faster than 1/500 sec.) for levitation photography, I have to press both shutter release buttons as simultaneously as possible to get the same perfect moment for both cameras", she continues.
