With such rapid technological enhancements, I'd always wondered as to why no one has ever thought of a keyboard that can be washed pretty much like a coffee mug?

There are very few people who do not bring food near their computers, and even fewer who do not  have a coffee mug next to it. I on the other hand have both!

For clumsy people like me, Logitech has recently unveiled a nifty little keyboard: K310, that can be easily washed and dried. "The keyboard that loves a wash. From a light dusting to a deep soak, this washable keyboard is easy to clean and easy to dry." shares Logitech.

























It's not only food or drinks that can ruin your keyboard, no matter how many cleaning tools you use, you can never completely get rid of dust between the keys.

As far as K310 is concerned,  you can submerge this keyboard in up to 11 inches of water, you can quite easily wash it in your kitchen sink or perhaps wipe it with a wet cloth.

The best part about this keyboard is that it dries up as easily as it cleans up. There are tiny little holes at the back of the keyboard that helps it in drying faster.






















As for sustainability, Logitech ensures that it can endure plenty of washing and usage. The keyboard has been laser printed, with UV coating, "this keyboard can take a washing as well as a pounding" shares Logitech.

In order to use it, all you need to do is plug-it into the USB port and you are good to go; you don't need any kind of setup. Here's a little something more interesting about this keyboard:

The 12 function keys have shortcuts to important and popular applications:

Hit F1 to go home, F2 to launch your email, F3 to start a search, and F4 to crunch some numbers on the calculator. Want to bring up your media player and play your favorite music? Simply hit F5 to launch, F6 for the previous track, F7 to play or pause the track, and F8 to skip tracks. For volume controls, you can hit F9 to mute, or F10 and F11 to lower or raise the volume (respectively). And when you’re finished using your computer, put your PC to sleep by hitting F12.

The product is not in the market yet, but is scheduled to hit US market by end of this month and Europe market by October this year. The keyboard costs $39.99. You can pre-order it here
