When it comes writing a book, finding inspiration is very different from writing a blog. A book is focused towards a particular story or a topic. A book writer needs inspiration for characters and plot. But a blogger needs to churn our content on regular basis that covers a wider range of topics; a blogger needs to be updated with all the latest happenings and come up with creative ideas for articles. Not only this, a blogger also has to be creative in the field of social media in order to reach out to more readers; because with no traffic and no interaction with the readers, the whole purpose of blogging is negated.

So with so much in a blogger's mind, finding inspiration can become a daunting task. Many bloggers begin to consider inspiration as a chore, and when it becomes a chore it's not inspiration any more. It is something that comes naturally, the more you try to fetch it the more it will run away from you. Therefore, the trick here is to let it come to you, all you need to do is to be in the right frame of mind, in the right surroundings and have the ability to recognize inspiration when it hits you.

I am no expert in finding inspiration but I do have some of my own tricks and ideas that work most of the times. I am not saying that all of these tips will work for all of you, but I am sure that you will definitely find something that will suit you. And even if you think that none of these ideas will work for you, then I suggest that you should experiment, because that's what inspiration is all about, it comes from unexpected sources. Therefore my first tip for you is 'Intuition'.

Intuition:

We all know that intuition is a very tricky business, very often people tend to make mistakes by relying on that little voice, because intuition has nothing to do with reason. But then if you learn to reason with your intuition, weigh all the pros and cons of what that little voice tells you, then intuition can become a bloggers' best friend. What to write about and what not to write, which idea to support and what to criticize, what strategy to use or which platform to leverage; whatever you do, never ignore your intuition, acknowledge it and see if it works for you.

Reading:

I've noticed that bloggers tend to read less and write more, but it should be the other way around. The more you read, the more space you create in your head for new ideas. Reading only blogs is another mistake that bloggers tend to make and ignore magazines or books. Agreed that this is the digital era, but traditional form of writing still has a lot of quality and brings you out of your comfort zone. The mind needs to be introduced to something new, only then will it offer you a new idea. No matter what you do, never stop reading even for a single day.

Go window shopping:

This might sound weird to some people, but mindless window shopping always works for me. By mindless I mean that I never look for anything particular, even while standing in front of a store, looking at a beautiful dress I don't think about the dress or about buying it someday; I just keep looking with no purpose at all, and then all of a sudden my mind will tell me something that I'd never thought about before. From there I steer my mind towards an idea for an article. It does not work every time, but most of the times. If you are not a window shopping person, then go to an art gallery, a  museum, a flee market, historical monument or even a concert.

Long Drives:

For me driving is a very personal thing, my car is my solace and a long drive with good music always clears my head. So when  you are struggling with ideas or a particular project, step out of your house and take yourself for a ride. Don't try to think too much, just space out all the frustrating thoughts and keep driving, you will be surprised how easily you will be able to find a solution or come up with an interesting idea. A perfect drive can be a great source of inspiration.

Change:

Creative people have the tendency of becoming accustomed to their comfort zone, they refuse to step out of it to experience something new. For your brain to give you new ideas, you need to give it a new environment and new experiences. This change can be a change of place, change of people that you regularly meet, change of food that you usually eat or perhaps a new cafe where you can sit by the window with your laptop. These simple changes stimulates your brain, in other words inspires it.

These are my top 5 tips and I am sure everyone have their ways when it comes to finding inspiration, so do share your tips in the comment section below.
