All those who are a part of the Twitterverse, can never get enough of "follow/RT me and win xyz number of followers" tweets. When I first came across Twitterich, I assumed it to be another spammy campaign on Twitter.

But, when I looked into it, I realized that it is in fact an interesting social media experiment that works like a lottery.

The Martin Agency, a Virginia-based advertising agency has come up with an creative Twitter campaign called 'Twitterich' that gives one Twitter user a chance to win 1 million followers. The system is pretty simple, all those who want to have a chance to win this lottery has to follow @1MillionRicher, and once this account reaches 1 million followers, a random winner will be chosen, who will become the owner of this account and gain 1 million followers.  Looking at their Twitter account, everything seems to be legit, and we couldn't find any sign of spam.

Here's what their website had to say:
"Once the Twitter handle @1MillionRicher reaches one million (1,000,000) followers, one (1) follower of @1MillionRicher will receive the Twitter account. The award recipient will be chosen at random and notified via Twitter. Twitterich will not use the @1MillionRicher Twitter account for any advertising, link spamming, or personal messaging with any followers, except for notifying the potential award recipient once they are selected."
