The most common mistake brands make is that they start a Facebook page with great zeal, but with time their enthusiasm starts to fade away. The only activity on their page are automated updates.
The good news is that there are many brands (both big and small) that bring creative ideas to the table and looking at their Facebook page can inspire any page owner. Facebook itself recognizes these pages, and their exemplary campaigns. 'Facebook Success Stories' is a Facebook initiative that aims to highlight creative ideas.
"Every day, brands around the world are inspired to bring creative marketing ideas to life on Facebook in ways that have a real impact on their business" shares Facebook.
I had a look at this segment and found some very interesting (and of course successful) ideas in there. Here my favorite one:
Huggies - Hong Kong
Since Huggies is all about babies, in Hong Kong they decided to capture their customers' attention by encouraging them to share cute images of their babies on their Facebook book. They promised that the best 60 images will be seen on buses all over the city. There were more than 4,000 photos shared.
Although the images didn't make it to the buses, but you can find a billboard in Hong Kong's busiest subway stations with a collection of adorable baby images who made it to top 60. Now that's an out-of-the-box idea of building customer relationships.
