I've never been comfortable with the idea tweeting in the toilet, there is something unsettling about talking to the Twitterverse in the midst your most personal chores. Therefore, when I heard about 'Shitter' a product that prints yours or a celebrity's tweets on a white cotton roll toilet paper, I wasn't really sure how I should react.

No doubt, it's an interesting idea (that has taken the Internet by storm), that turns twitter stream into 4 rolls of toilet paper, making your toilet sessions a bit more lengthy; but I still think that reading the newspaper is perhaps a bit more productive way to spend time on the throne.

Having said that, people seem to be loving Shitter, including Twitter's office manager in UK who tweeted, "OMG I'm so ordering [Shitter] for the @TwitterUK office."

Here's what Shitter's founder David Gillespie has to say:

“Obviously this is fairly tongue in cheek, but we’re reasonably pleased we monetized Twitter in a way that avoided advertising. We all have other jobs, though would obviously like to make it a full-time thing. As you saw, The Meaning Of Mate was the first thing CE did, now this. The direction is still settling, but I think there’s some kind of course to chart around just trying to entertain people. I don’t know where the revenue is, it may very well wind up needing to be funded by brands when the right project comes along. I can’t imagine Kleenex having put their name to Shitter though!”

What I found interesting and hilariously true, is their tagline that says: "Social Media has never been so disposable."

If this is something that you would like to add to your toilet accessories, then head over to getshitter.com and order for yourself 4 rolls for $35.
