If you make a living by blogging, or doing another job that requires hours a day sitting at a desk, you might not have much time to exercise. Because of your work requirements, it might seem far-fetched to include going to the gym into your busy routine.

Contrary to common belief, however, exercise doesn’t have to take much time and it doesn’t have to be out of your house. With these exercise and diet tips, you can shed pounds, feel better, and be more productive throughout your day from the comfort of your own home without going that far from our beloved blog.

Try a Pedal Machine

You can buy a small pedaling machine for under $75. This little machine fits right under your desk so you can pedal out your stresses and burn calories while you’re sitting at your desk. This is an ideal exercise to do while blogging. It reliefs stress, helps you lose weight and it is also great fun to do.

Leg Lifts

While working in front of your computer or eating lunch at your desk, do some leg lifts. Sit up straight in your chair and alternate lifting each leg parallel to the floor for 10 seconds. Repeat back and forth for 10 minutes to burn about 50 calories and tone your legs.

Armrest Lift

Cross your ankles and place your hands on your chair’s armrests. Exhale and lift yourself up out of your chair. Engage your core muscles to help tone your belly at the same time as your arms.

If you don’t have armrests, you can do this exercise between two tables or chairs (just make sure they’re heavy enough to support your weight when you lift up).

Sit on a Balance Ball

Trade your chair in for a balance ball to tone and strengthen your core and improve your posture. In regular desk chairs, we can get lazy and slouch, but a balance ball will force you to sit up and engage your core muscles to keep balanced.

Take the Stairs

On your way up to your house or office (or whenever you have the opportunity), take the stairs instead of using an elevator.

Walk It Out

Find excuses to add walking into your day, even if it’s just a few minutes. Walk to your friend’s house instead of driving. Get off the train or bus earlier than you usually do.

Walk around your office or home while you’re on the phone. Walk to a farmer’s market to get fresh fruit or veggies for lunch instead of ordering in.

Try a Nutritional, Weight-Loss Designed Diet

Talking about fresh food, why not try a meal delivery service, such as Medifast or Nutrisystem, who have made it their mission over the last 40 years to provide office professionals like you with portion-controlled, freshly-made, nutritional meals. They save you the hassle of shopping and cooking and as they provide discount coupon codes all year around they can be cheaper than preparing your own food.

Drink Water

There are different theories about drinking cold or room temperature water, but just drinking more water can help you lose weight. The argument for cold water is that your body works harder to absorb cold water and so it burns about 30 calories for each full glass.

Water also helps curb hunger. Before a meal, drink a full glass of water. You’ll feel fuller faster and avoid overeating.

You will be surprised how incorporating movement into your day, a healthy, balanced diet full of fruit and vegetables, controlling your portions, and drinking lots of water can help with weight loss career.

As a bonus, you’ll also feel more energized, happier, and more productive as a blogger! When you’re at your best, you can work harder and better make money online.
