Contemporary Korean artist Do Ho Suh has created a massive installation, Floor, at Lehmann Maupin's pop-up gallery at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute (STPI). The sculpture has a number of glass plates resting upon thousands of small plastic human figures. When seen from above, it appears as if there are bees inside a glass box. The human figures are in a standing position with their hands in air as if they are supporting the glasses.
The concept of this astounding installation is thought-stimulating. The figures represent the diverse and anonymous masses of people who support and/or resist the symbolic floor.
