Pingram is like a twin website to Pinterest, but the only difference here is that 'Pingrammers' share Instagram images.
Pingram was recently launched by Italian developer, Gennaro Varriale as a weekend project. "I made this project to share my Instagram photos with a design similar to Pinterest. So, I decided to give you the same opportunity." he shares.
We all know how people love to share images and products on Pinterest, this site solely concentrates on Instagram images, with an interface that no different than Pinterest. The site makes it incredibly easy for iPhone photographers to share their Instagram photos directly through Pingram, eventually to Pinterest; making it easier for them to reach out to new audience. Provided, they want to!
To join Pingram, you must already have a Instagram account, using which you can you will grant Pingram a permission to launch itself as a third-party-app. Thereafter, all your images will be added to Pingram, along with likes and comments.
There is an important warning mentioned in Pingram's about us page, stating, "For instagram's users privacy pin is disabled for default. You can pin only Pingram users's photos (Pingrammers)." Varriale has made sure that only Pingram users can repin photos. This clearly reflects Varriale's seriousness towards privacy issues and taking Pingram to new heights in the future. He is also planning to refine the interface and add Facebook Timeline integration.
Do you think it will attract more and more Instagram users to spread the word? Or is it just a seasonal thing, and people will eventually get bored and move on? Do share your views in the comment section below.
