It is safe to say that CDs are increasingly becoming as obsolete as Floppy disks, so rather than throwing them away, many artists are turning this past era into a work of art.

Sean Avery for example, is an Australian artist who turns discarded CDs into beautiful and striking animal sculptures. Although he is primarily a writer-illustrator of children's picture books, but is also a very talented artist who likes to create sculptures that bring together different man made materials.

"I blend many different man made materials together to make them appear strangely organic, with a distinct sense of movement. I like to think of my work as 'sustainable art'." shares the artist on his website.

Not only is he a well known artist in Australia, but has also been invited by Ripley's Believe it or Not to display some of his work in their Hollywood museum. Let's have a look at his unique work of art:
