Eric Daigh is an American artist based in Michigan. Using pushpins on a board as a medium, he creates outstanding artworks; portraits being the primary subject. In the ArtPrize contest 2009, Eric's pushpin portraits artwork was chosen and honored as the third best by public. His creative work process starts with taking photographs of the subject. Processing them through a computer software, it reproduces them in five different colors. He usually pushes between 25,000 to 100,000 pushpins into the board in primarily 5 colors: red, yellow, blue, white and black. And the outcome is powerful, influential and simply amazing.
“I think of DNA and that we are essentially made up of a very small number of different switches, and those are most closely represented in the five-color palette,” is how Eric perceives his artwork. Now isn't that brilliant!
