Bulgarian artist Plamen Ignatov is a man of patience and brilliance. He has built a painstaking matchstick model of the Rila Monastery from about 6 million matchsticks over a period of 16 years. It is detailed, huge and looks absolutely beautiful.
We have featured pretty amazing matchstick artists like Patrick Acton's 35 Years in Matchstick Art and Shaikh Salimbhai's Taj Mahal model from 75,000 matchsticks. But never I have seen such intricate and massive sculpture made from matchsticks. Knowing that the artist has dedicated 16 years of his life to create it, it is itself a big achievement.
