Google India has partnered with O-zone Networks, India's Leader in Wireless Mobility Solutions recently. The two giants aim to provide free Wi-Fi services to use Google Plus unlimited and YouTube for 10 minutes per week. For having access to other websites, the user has to pay for minutes only.
For the obvious reason that Google+ is diminishing and users losing interest, Google has taken this step. As 'The Atlantic' rightly says, "this is kind of like getting free Wi-Fi at the airport (oh!) and then realizing you're only able to browse the airport's own website (oh)."
Moreover, O-Zone is in talks with Google to make it a long-term contract. "This is a first-of-its kind promotional tie-up. This association between Google India and O-Zone Networks reinforces the fact that people are now realizing the power of Wi-Fi", says Sanjeev Sarin, CEO of O-Zone Networks.
This offer will run for 3 months and will be live this weekend. Consumers frequenting outlets such as Café Coffee Day, McDonalds, Café Oz, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Costa Coffee, Subway and OM Bookshop, among others, will be able to make use of the offer.
If we look back since Google Plus's inception, Google has taken considerable steps to push their social networking site to match the popularity of Facebook. But, will this step work for them?
