Scott and Christy are surfers and photographers who run an adventure travel blog and a San Diego food blog. They provide tips to others who want to fulfill their travel dreams, no matter what situation they are in. They also give tips on travel photography and business building. Not only that, soon they are going to launch their own clothing line called OT Surf.

Having a dream of ultimate surf trip to destinations that include Sri Lanka, Morocco, Portugal, Maldives and all over South America, the couple has been practicing travel photography since last fifteen years and sharing the love of travel as well as surfing. Their blog has some some really interesting stuff about their adventures in Nepal, Mexico, Panama and a number of weekend trips to different places across U.S.

They believe that if you have a passion for travel, you can pursue it even with a 9-5 work schedule. Well, now that's a pretty good deal!

Let's talk with Scott and Christy and get to know about their travel adventures and how they are living up their dreams:

Please introduce yourself to E-junkies.

We are Scott and Christy, two entrepreneurs with a passion for photography, travel adventures, surfing, apparel design and journalism. We also have a strong passion for pursuing our dreams. We have spent the last several years working towards building a lifestyle business and we are having a blast while doing it!

Tell us about your great blog 'Ordinary Traveler'. What is it all about?

We started Ordinary Traveler as a way to share our travel adventure stories and photography in order to inspire others to fulfill their dreams of travel. We write about our travel mishaps, adventures, travel tips as well as posting inspiring travel videos.

Ordinary Traveler has since branched off into a couple of other ventures, all with the OT name. We have launched a photography business called OT Unlimited Media and we have a clothing line in the works called, OT Surf!

We are really excited to show everyone what we have been working on for the last 8 months with OT Surf. Our signature product is going to be really cool, so stay tuned for that launch in the next month or two! You can follow us on Facebook to get updates.

What inspired you to start 'Ordinary Traveler'. We would love to know about its inception.

We noticed a plethora of travel websites run by people who had quit their jobs to travel indefinitely. The idea behind the name Ordinary Traveler is that ordinary people can lead extraordinary lives and everybody's path is different. You can travel even with a full time career. We just hope to show people that whatever you do - just remember to make it a great adventure.

With what mission you'd started your blog and how far, do you think, you have reached towards achieving it?

Our initial desire was to build a platform for our photography and a fun website that other people would enjoy visiting. I think we have accomplished more than we had hoped. It's a great feeling when we get emails from readers who we have inspired or helped out in some way.

You've been to so many countries and even lived in few of them. I know it's hard to pick but living in which country has been the most exciting experience?

We actually haven't lived in any of the countries we visited. Our preferred travel style is to take trips while having a home base. We are considering moving to Peru for a few months, which may turn into longer, but living far away from San Diego for a long period of time isn't a top priority right now. We like to be close to our families and friends. Christy has a lot of nieces and nephews that we both adore and we want to be a big part of their childhood.

How has been your experience with blogging? How has it changed your life personally as well as professionally?

We had no idea that our blog would open as many doors as it has for us. I love getting feedback and learning from other people online. We probably wouldn't have been inspired to start a clothing line before our blogging days.

I think the best part about blogging has been meeting like-minded people who are doing what they love. Having these positive influences in our lives has been great for us and truly inspiring. Pursuing your dreams just feels normal in the blogging world.

Give us a few tips for running a Travel blog successfully.

Devote your life to it. :) It does take a lot of work not only to build the site, but to keep your readers interested. The best thing you can do is to develop a schedule and stick to it. Decide how many times you feel comfortable posting every week and stick to it. That way your readers will know what to expect from you.

Be yourself. People follow people, not blogs.

What has been the breakthrough point for your blog or is it yet to come?

I'm not sure we have had one specific breakthrough point. After blogging for about 15 months, we are still newbies in the grand scheme of things. It's always nice to be mentioned by National Geographic Traveler or Lonely Planet, which has happened to us a few times, but I think a lot more people will know who we are after the launch of our clothing line, OT Surf.

Share your fondest memory with 'Ordinary Traveler'.

We are extremely happy that because of our blog, we have met some amazing people online, a few of which we have become good friends with. It's nice to finally have a group of friends who love a lot of the same things we do and it's crazy to me that we met most of them online!

What are your dreams and vision for 'Ordinary Traveler'?

We hope our clothing line has a successful launch, that our photography business will continue to grow, and our blog will inspire many others to fulfill their goals and dreams. It's really an exciting time for us and the future looks wide open!

What is that one advice you'd like to give to aspiring bloggers?

Don't give up. We have had our days of feeling like we are just blogging to nobody, but if you just keep putting out useful content and networking with other bloggers, you are sure to grow. Don't expect to be an overnight success. Gradual growth is better than huge peaks and valleys.

And a final word for our readers...?

Keep working at your dreams and don't forget to make whatever you do a great adventure! Oh... and follow us on Facebook  so you can be the first to know when our exciting clothing line launches!!

Scott and Christy, thank you for the interview and sharing your exciting journey with us. You guys are doing a wonderful job and we are really looking forward to the launch of OT Surf. E-junkie wishes you all the best!
