These intricate anatomical sculptures are one of those few creepy things that I like to appreciate. Of late we have been featuring quite a lot of dark stuff on our blog by artists who find inspiration in the oddest of places. Their imagination may not be understood by everyone, but is definitely applauded by true art lovers.

Maskull Lasserre is a Canadian artist who meticulously carves ordinary items and turns them into a work of art.

"Lasserre's drawings and sculptures explore the unexpected potential of the everyday through allegories of value, expectation, and utility. Elements of nostalgia, accident, humor, and the macabre are incorporated into works that induce strangeness in the familiar, and provoke uncertainty in the expected." is how his website describes Maskull's work.
