What I love the most about infographics is that they can transform boring, complex and mind-boggling data, statistics or information into something witty, interesting and visually appealing. It has changed the way people share their views, ideas, data and even history these days.

You will come across various kinds of infographics, and somehow they tend to develop an urge to create an interesting infographic yourself as well.

If you feel the same way, then you must give Visual.ly a try. A startup that not only features more than 2000 infographics but also provides you the tools and platform to create and share your infographic.

"Visualizations are powerful., but they've required time and hard work to create -- until now. You no longer need expensive software, extensive design skills, or number crunching ability. We're building a tool that will allow everyone to quickly and easily create professional quality designs with their own data. And when you're ready to show you work to the world, publish it to your Visual.ly profile, your own personal showcase."

Visual.ly carries three major features:

Explore: Here you can browse through thousands of infographics that have been featured under various categories like: animals, humor, technology, politics, lifestyle, business, how-to, social media and many more.

Share: To be able to submit your own infographic, you will have to register with Visual.ly. Once you login to your account, you will be able to upload and share your infographic. Here you can upload your own designs to the site and share it with other infographic enthusiasts. This will bring you exposure and feedback.

Create: The site is in beta as of now, and soon they will be rolling out their own set of visualization tools and applications that will let your create an infographic within minutes. Although you can still check out their fun and delightful tool called Twitter Visualizer that lets you create appealing infographic using data from your tweets. "Twitterize yourself" is how they like to put it.

Visual.ly's CEO Stew Langille shared, "We knew we were into something big, having seen the power of data visualization work so dramatically across the web."

We can't wait to check out their main infographic tools, in the meanwhile we tried our hands on their Twitter Visualizer tool where other than creating an infographic featuring your own Twitter data, you can also try its Face-off feature where you can compare any two Twitter accounts. It could be between two celebrities, two movies, two friends, or two websites.

We conducted a face-off between Mashable & TechCrunch. ;) Here's how the infographic came out to be:

It's quite fun, and trying this feature has only added fuel to my anxiousness of checking out their future tools and applications.

Visit Visual.ly and let us know if you think it will turn out to be a success.
