Philippe Ramette, is a French contemporary artist who is very particular about authenticity and can go to any heights to maintain this principle. His images may seem to defy gravity and easily be assumed to be photoshopped, but as strange and bizarre as it may seem, these images are absolutely real.

"You see a tension in my hands, my red face is far from serene as the blood rushes to it, my suit is ruffled." he says.

So how on earth does he do it?

Ramette dreamed about the image on the left, and in order to convert it into reality he used a watertight tank that was used as a underwater float for the balcony and was placed by crane and a barge. Using a support for his legs, he clung himself to the balcony. He also has some of the most serene underwater photographs for which he wore lead weights under his suits and around his ankles.

Taking help from professional team of divers, Ramette completed his series of underwater images and called it, "Rational Exploration Of The Undersea".

"There I was in a suit on the seabed, weighted down and able to walk underwater as if on land, unaffected by the currents. For me, that was a real pleasure." he says.
