Wondering what's there in the image on the left? I know it's playing with your mind. It tickled my thinking nerve too when I first saw it. Okay, let me tell you what actually it is.

It is the world's first 3 dimensional font developed by Yara Khoury and Melle Hammer. The font is based on the concept of a thin and wide ribbon that can bent freely through the space.

"Just from one perspective the text reproduced by the ribbon can be read. All other points of view just offer suggestive visions of a banner floating in the air and bending on the ground in order to create a visually dynamic sculpture", as described on their website.

With the two magnificent 3D fonts-Kashida-arabic and Kashida-latin, you can type whatever text you want, say, 'Creativity'. Thus, making it a 100% personalized product. There's a keyboard provided on the screen from where you can enter text. There are two typeface colors: black and white.

Once you enter the text, you can order its sculptural form just by clicking on 'Checkout' on the virtual keyboard. Medium and large sized letters are produced and shipped as parts and can be assembled on arrival whereas small sized letters are shipped as one piece and can be used as a key chain or may be a locket.

It is developed by Yara Khoury and Melle Hammer in collaboration with Freedom Of Creativity and upon invitation by Khatt foundation for Arabic typography and design research.

I conclude by saying that it is a great step towards personalizing the products and of course, such inventions reminds us of the continuous developments taking in technology. And not to forget to give a heads up to the great designers behind creating world's first 3D font.
