Two brand new social buttons by two big players in the internet world have been rolled out in the past two days.

Few weeks back, we'd talked about Google's +1 button, that seemed to be inspired by Facebook's 'Like' button; another much needed step by Google to make their mark in the social networking world.

Another much delayed button in the block is Twitter's 'Follow' button, that you can embed to your website, enabling your visitors to directly follow your Twitter account without having to leave your site. It eliminates an extra step of visiting your profile on Twitter and then clicking on that follow button.

Google +1

On Wednesday, Google started rolling out their +1 button for third-party web sites, "we're releasing +1 buttons to the whole web. As a result, you might start seeing +1 appear on sites large and small across the internet." announces Google's Software Engineer, Evan Gilbert.

Many websites like, Mashable, TechCrunch, The Huffington Post, The Washington Post etc have already started using this latest button. You can +1 on our blog as well. :)

"With a single click you can recommend that raincoat, news article or favorite sci-fi movie to friends, contacts and the rest of the world. The next time you connections search, they could see your +1's directly in their search results, helping them find your recommendations when they're most useful." adds Gilbert.

All your +1's will be listed in your Google profile.

Embedding a code for this button is a piece of cake, you can get a snippet of code from this link, choose an appropriate size for your website and add to the pages of your website. "+1 is a public action, so you should add the button only to public, crawlable pages on your site. Once you add the button, Google may crawl or recrawl the page, and store the page title and other content, in response to a +1 button impression or click." shares Google.

Twitter's Follow Button

Twitter's presence on every other web page is pretty evident, and those retweets button can be found almost everywhere. But there was this tiny feature that Twitter had not considered until now, a button enabling you to follow accounts directly from third-party-websites, without having to visit a user's profile/account on Twitter's website.

"For publishers and brands, adding the Follow Button to your website and using Twitter to stay connected with your audience is a powerful combination. People who follow your account are much more likely to retweet and engage with your Tweets, and to repeatedly visit your website." explains Twitter's blog post.

Also, if you click on the username next to the 'Follow' button, you will be able to see user's profile and latest tweets in that account. Like any other social button, this button is also incredibly easy to embed to your website; get your code here.

Other than their 'Follow' button, Twitter has recently rolled out its latest search feature. "Not only will it deliver more relevant Tweets when you search for something or click on a trending topic, but it will also show you related photos and videos, right there on the results page." shares Jack Dorsey

Soon you will be able to upload an image to a tweet directly from Twitter.com, without having to visit third-party-websites like TwitPic to upload your pics. PhotoBucket is working on this latest soon-to-be-rolled-out feature by Twitter. Check out this video for more details:
