Francisco, please introduce yourself to E-junkies.

My real name is Francisco Perez and I use DiTesco as my online persona. I have a degree in Business Administration and have occupied several executive positions in well known companies during my professional career. Presently, I manage my own small Consulting firm, which I have been doing for the past ten years, in additional to several other ventures both online and offline.

Firstly, let's talk about your blog 'iBlogZone'. What is it all about?

From a business standpoint, and on a very broad basis, iBlogZone's main goal is to help bloggers/internet users of any level to build a succesful small business online. I do this by providing information and resources about SEO, Internet Marketing, Blogging Tips, etc. and most importantly, business insights, that I learnt from others and sharing some of my own professional experience, whenever they are relevant.

I read in your bio that you have worked at some great positions in different companies. Then how did you end up starting a blog? What made you start blogging?

I always had the entrepreneurial spirit in me and one of my personal/professioanl goals was to manage my own business. Having successfully created my Consulting firm, I managed to create a small "workforce" of great independent Consultants, who does the "field" work (90% of the job) for me, thus allowing me more time to venture on other things. This is how I got started into my online ventures, or blogging if you prefer. :)

You've been in this industry from more than a decade now. Would you like to share this long journey of blogging with us?

Ooppss, sorry about that :) I think I might have to rewrite my about page... What I meant to say is that I have been in the Consulting Industry for over a decade. Online or blogging wise, I have been in it for nearly three years now (which on the internet seems like a decade). Nonetheless, I have to admit that the journey in itself, although fun and entertaining, was not an easy ride. My goal was to prove to myself that succeeding online is a matter of putting in hard serious work and implementing "stuff" that the reliable and credible winners were preaching. The learning process was the most difficult part. I had no idea what SEO, CSS, Html, or any of those technical stuff, so I had to learn first and then move forward. If you are determined in doing something, with effort, patience and perseverance, it can be done. Obviously, if I knew then what I know now, perhaps the journey would have been less challenging and easier to achieve.

When you entered the blogging world, did you ever think you would become as famous for your blogging skills as you're now?

Although I would want to, I really don't think that I am famous (yet, lol). However, I do believe that I have earned a place within the community. It is probably natural for someone to have such an ambition, as being famous in the blogging sphere entails having authority and trust. Such accomplishments are very hard to achieve, and once attained, the path to success is open and the sensation, very motivating. It is a recognition that you are doing something right and that is of extreme importance.

What do you think makes your blog stand out?

To the best of my ability, I tend to stay away from repetitive information that users can find almost all over the place. Unless I can find a twist, I will normally just link to the relevant source of information and then provide my own views and opinion. For example, everybody is talking about Ad Blindness and why people stay away from it. Well, in one of my recent articles, I provide tips on how to find business opportunities by precisely, only looking at ads. I called it "Ad Hunting" and this is something different that uers will normally not see. Ultimately, the most important point is that I provide information that works, that helps, and that users can take action upon. In some rare occassions, I will suggest a thing or two that I have read from reliable and trusted sources.

What are your views on 'Social Media as a Promotional Tool'? Has it helped you in growing your blog? If yes, then how?

Think about it this way. Offline, one of the best promotional tools a business (or personal influence for that matter) can have is "word of mouth". These comes from people who have worked or done business with you and of which over time has earned your trust. These people will not have any problems recommending you anytime, should the opportunity arise. The same principal applies online. You have to build relationships, to earn trust and extend your reach. This objective has been made easier via the social web and having a few loyal connections that are trusted in the online world recommending you, is by far better than having thousands of followers that are only concerned about the "numbers" game, among other things. That said, YES. If you do it properly, show respect, know how to reciprocate and apply all the best practices of both personal and professional relationships, then I am convinced that it will benefit anyone and consequently, anything related to that person (or brand), e.g., your blog.

Would you like to share your future goals/plans with us?

Blogging is a difficult task and one must provide constant attention with the risk of it dying in no time. This is probably one of the downsides in blogging. The competition is fierce, new blogs/websites are born every day and are getting better and better. In the near future, it would be nice if I can be recognized as one of the references in the Home/small Business niche. Most importantly, I would like to be part of the community and continue to provide information that adds value. Further down the road, I want to have an enough online presence that can generate a steady stream of income and perhaps venture more with partnerships and collaborations with my now existing and future connections.

Many other budding bloggers would draw inspiration from a successful blogger like you. What message do you have for them?

Just like anything else in life, if you want to succeed, you must put in a good amount of effort and work patiently. There are no shorts cuts to being successful in blogging for business. Stay away from those who tell you about getting rich in no time. If that were true, I would have stopped a long time ago :) One important aspect to blogging is to know how to choose your topic/niche and plan accordingly. Choose wisely as you will be in it for the long haul. Interact, reciprocate, build relationships that matter, be honest, help those in need, and provide value. All this will help you build your credibility and gain trust, which will later translate to authority. On a side note.. Thank you very much for giving me this opportunity to share with your readers a little bit about me and the experience I have with my online ventures. I hope they find it useful and hopefully learn something from my experience.
