The concepts of the illustrations are simple but the designs are complicated. But the concept and designs go hand in hand. That's the beauty of Tang's creations.Tang is our 'Artist Of The Week' and it always feel great to feature such designers on our blog. Catch his interview below and enjoy some of his illustrations:

What tickles your creative side? What motivates the artist within you?
I believe art is a powerful means of communication. Everything in our surrounding could be an inspiration. As a graphic designer/ illustrator I try to convey a message visually and creatively. Be it a poetic and abstract message, or just a pop culture pun.
When did you realize that you can create such awesome designs? When and what was your first creation?
I have been drawing since I was small. My first design was for a t-shirt contest about 4 years ago.
I can talk endlessly about your designs. You tell me..which one is your favourite?
I know this is cliche but I am still going to say I hope my next design will be better. It's too hard to choose one favourite, what come to my mind now are: Coexistence, So Long, Old World and Journey to the City of No Horizon.
Some of your best illustrations use Negative Space. Tell us more about the concept of using Negative space.
I like that negative space is able to create a kind of double take meaning to viewers. Also, I like minimalistic stuffs and by using negative space I am able to use as few elements as possible in illustration.
Tell us about your surreal light series. They look amazing!
Thank You! I think the reason why light is fascinating is that we can see it and yet it is intangible. They are already surreal to me in its own form. The surreal light series is open to interpretations and I will probably add few more to it. It's one of my own favourite projects.

What do you consider to be the turning point in your career life or is it yet to come?
The first turning point was when I had my design printed as T-shirt for the very first time. That really gave me confidence to become a designer.
What are the other things that interests you?
Movies, music, stories, newspapers, football, buildings, photography, animals, and of course, art and design.
Many other aspiring graphic designers would draw inspiration from you. What message do you have for them?
Work hard and smart. Do what you enjoy and I'm sure everything will be rewarding eventually.Tang, your designing is awesome and it is certainly a personal favorite of mine.
