Meet 'Reading Rainbow' that has recently become one of the most backed campaign in history of Kickstarter. Wondering, why?
It's still a day to go until the campaign ends on 3rd July and it has already raised some $4.7 million from more than 95,000 backers, and counting and has also attracted the attention of Seth MacFarlane who'll match the next $1 million in pledges helping 'Reading Rainbow' reach more and more kids.
This is the first time in the history of Kickstarter that something like this has ever happened.
Well, in case you are excited thinking 'Reading Rainbow' is returning back to the TV then I have a more exciting piece of news for you. If this campaign reaches $5 million before it ends (I bet it would) 'Reading Rainbow' will be available everywhere on smartphones, consoles, OTT Boxes, etc. to everychild with free subscriptions for 7500+ classrooms.
According to LeVar Burton, the host of 'Reading Rainbow', "I believe that every child has a right, and a need, to be literate. We have a responsibility to prepare our children… and right now, the numbers show that we, as a society, are failing in that responsibility".
'Reading Rainbow' started in 1983 to encourage the children to read and succeeded in every way turning generations of kids into lifelong readers, all this achieved from a small box called TV but these are the days of technology, virtual reality and all so why stick to just a TV and switch to the digital wonders of today.
We already have the 'Reading Rainbow' App for tablets that was launched two years ago but this time 'Reading Rainbow' is going everywhere on the web, smartphones, game consoles, connected televisions and even the classrooms that too for free.
Don't forget there are a great deal of rewards involved like a signed book, bumper sticker, app subscription, t-shirts, coffee mug and more.
So what are you waiting for back this campaign before the time runs out, this is one campaign worth supporting.
