Vintage advertisements are a class apart, they may be too much on the text, color or graphics part but they are true inspiration for the modern day advertisers and this is pretty evident in French advertiser, illustrator and graphic designer David Redon's amazing work.
In his 'Ads Libitum' project, Redon has cleverly photoshopped modern day musicians like Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, Michael Jackson into vintage ads.
The whole idea behind this project is to use the musicians stardom to promote different products. According to Redon, "I like the shift between vintage and modern pop culture, because these days the border between art and commercial is very small, and artists work their images like brands do."
Redon started working on this project last summer. He hunts down the ads he likes on the internet, then retouches them. It takes him one to two hours to create one ad.
