In case you were waiting for Google to release its annual year-end Zeitgeist just to see what the world searched for this year then hold your breath because the list is out.

Earlier this week Google Zeitgeist which highlights the top searches in 2013.

According to Google this is the most global Zeitgeist till date, "This year marks our most global Zeitgeist to date—with 1,000+ top 10 lists across categories like Trending People, Most-Searched Events and Top Trending Searches from 72 countries."

The former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela who died earlier this month was the number 1 trending search this year.

Google has also made an interactive 3D global map that showcases the top search trends of the year, day by day in all cities around the world. Just spin the glob, select the city and explore the topics that people searched on this year.
