"Stampede is a movement. It’s a movement to bring the smiles hidden in that shoebox back into your everyday life"

Photographs are the graphical ensembles of a memory captured for eternity. It sounds very cliched  I know but the sense of reminiscing a bygone moment in various hues just guts me totally.Probably I rever the old-school charm still. There are many out there who feel just the same as me.

Stumbling upon this rather simplistic yet intuitive project on Kickstarter - Stampede , just brought home this feeling of yes, we live in a age where memories too can be digitized and sent across to your friends and family, without altering its primary form. Creativity is an additional incentive that tags along.

Before setting out to describe the campaign details, imagine this situation. It's a festive season or any special occasion. You wish to send out a gift that's "different" and leaves a impact on the receiver. You're hard pressed for cash. What's your savior in such a tight -necked situation where obligation and love for the close ones collide so intricately?

Photos!

What better way than these special photographic memories to gift to the person whom you have spent scores of joyous moments. And trust me there are many of you who are reading this right now who would simply consider it too implausible or downright inadequate to gift somebody such a paltry gift. Paltry yes, only if you are thinking in monetary terms. But the gamut of shared joys that a photograph conveys is immeasurable. Well there is a world beyond the facades of materialistic high end products. And I have a stacks of these stored in my wardrobe.

It's time to just pick up all these scattered moments and weave it out in Postcard. A home-grown DIY gifting idea, Stampede allows you to make your very own authentic ones.

Designed by California based Matt Richmond, he calls his Postcard stamper 'Stampede'. Well it literally is a memory -meets -paper situation. A reusable stamp that allows users to convert their photographs to postcards, it includes all the familiar details found on printed Postcard that you pick off from store stands - Postage stamp area, address spaces, a divider and the message writing area. In the digital age of WhatsApp and Instagram like photo sharing options, why would one want to send out a postcard?

Well the answer is lies in doing a simple act  of old-school habits in a refreshed manner. The art of writing letters is vast lapsing into oblivion. The fate of other hand written or crafted beauties like the telegram, postcards or even random notes is in equal danger as the world today is caught in a bubble of technological fad. Our lives are so enmeshed with these virtual handiworks that simple gestures of sending keepsakes like a postcard too is a rare phenomena.

Stampede is the vent to getting back to a habit lost. Sending a postcard keepsake conveys a lot more intuitiveness than buying a million dollar possession. The product is up for a funding campaign on Kickstarter with a goal set of $10,000 and 15 days still left to go.
