When one starts off, the website may be basic in its architecture but can that continue always? Certainly a big NO. Moreover there are many businesses who assume a lackaidaiscal attitude when it comes to updating their websites. In short, merely creating a website is not enough, it has to be cared for and developed continuously to keep the customer interest alive.
To make this task easy, we have a startup today who just made website creation look like a child's play for businesses. Their one-line mission statement says "One click website builder".
Co-founded by three Pennsylvania graduates Atulya Pandey, Vincent Sanchez-Gomez and Fred Wang in 2012 and formally launched in March 2013, Pagevamp is a treasure tool for businesses with a Facebook Page. Wondering where does a Facebook Page fit into the puzzle?
Pagevamp enables users to create and update their websites from their Facebook Page with a single click act. A point to note is, personal Facebook Profiles don not count in this equation.
From the business point of view, this is a great time saver for Small Businesses who invest huge amounts in hiring web developers, designers and maintainence personnel.
With a prior track record of running a WordPress design agency, the founder trio, explicitly cater to the some issues that businesses face with Pagevamp:
- They offer both freemium and paid user services. In the former category, businesses also get a customized domain name as well while they charge a very affordable $12 per annum for using their service.
- Since it is a mobile based service and allows a sync action via Facebook, businesses have a collateral advantage of being socially operational at the same time.
- They offer some useful add-on features such as music, video and various multimedia content to be synced with your site.
- By registering for a custom domain with them, businesses can now expect to boost their search ranking by sharing their site address with people easily.
- For your mobile visitor-clients, they promise to give you a site that is compatible with all kinds of mobile devices.
- They also offer some soothing design templates for websites.
Launching their Beta version in March 2013, Pagevamp has been used by people across 80 countries to create nearly 7,000 sites till date. With active seed funding from Dorm Room Fund, the student-run investment arm of First Round Capital, the startup gets $20,000 of funding and networking aid.
With the initial website features sounding very promising, the founders want to expand their add-on features and functions. Sanchez shares that their ultimate aim is "to turn Pagevamp into a platform for add-ons from third-party developers". They already have a developer sign-up page in place for those willing to contribute to technical side of things.
