Have you ever been to a family get-together where not one but many people wear the photographer's hat and later when you are back to work, all excited to share the photographs on Facebook, you find it hard to collect all the photographs from everyone and by the time you get them you have lost the excitement? Yes, you have time and again but you are not the only one, most of us have been in this situation.

Facebook has found a very simple solution to this problem. Monday, this social networking giant announced a very interesting feature- shared photo albums. A feature that would allow multiple users to upload images to the same album.

The album creator can create the album and add maximum of 50 contributors who can upload up to 200 photos. The album creator, if he wants, can also choose a privacy setting (public, friends of contributors and contributors only) that allows the contributors to invite other users to add photos to the album. Bob Baldin and Fred Zhao are the two developers who developed this feature.

According to what Baldwin told Mashable, "Right now, if you were at a party and there were three different albums created, you might not be able to see all the photos [based on privacy settings], which is kind of confusing and frustrating".

This new feature was built during a hackathon session at Facebook. Hackathon is a time where the Facebook employees get a break from their regular work and think about making new prototypes for the platform.

This feature is not available on Facebook Pages as of now and the users for now can only create shared albums via desktop but Baldwin and Zhao are also planning to develop a way that would allow users to create these albums via mobile as well.

Currently, this feature is only available for a few English users and would be soon launched internationally.

Are you one of those few who got access to this feature, have you tried it out yet? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section below.
