Many of us take pride in our multitasking skills without realizing that in the process there is a 40% drop in productivity and it also leads to a lower IQ.

These are some of the many facts that reveal that multitasking is not something that we should take pride in. Statistically, there are only 2% people in the world who can multitask effectively. If that wasn't enough, technology is turning all of us into multitask addicts, so much so, that even while on a break or relaxing we tend to multitask.

As per this infographic by OnlineCollege.org, smartphones are making it all the more harder not to multitask for all of us; checking emails, chatting, updating, IMing takes up most of our time mostly while working, watching TV, at the movies, at a date, during dinner and even at the church.

"There are always multiple things to be doing at one time. While multitasking may make you feel like you’re accomplishing more things in less time, in actuality trying to multitask does more harm than good: It reduces productivity, and even lowers your IQ", they say.
