We've come across many creative campaigns where people have tried their level best to promote reading. So much so, that a book has been created that has to be read within 2 months, else the words in the book disappear...literally. We also featured a 'Weapon of Mass Instruction' where free books are distributed from a converted Ford Falcon from the Argentine armed forces.

Today we would like to share another beautiful and noble attempt by a bookstore on Salt City - Weller Book Works, who have scattered more than 800 books all over the city to promote reading and literacy. The campaign is called: Operation Book Drop.

Not only have they gathered and distributed hundreds of books all over the city, but have also created interesting book covers to lure a reader into picking up a book to read.

"It’s simple, we love books and our greatest passion is in sharing this love and promoting literacy in our community, which is why we’ve emptied truckloads of free books specially wrapped in seven custom Weller Book Works covers all around town. " they say.

The fake book covers carry messages that are bound to make anyone who's least bit interested in reading to at least pick up the book out of curiosity. Slogans like, 'The only thing better than a new book smell is that old book smell' and 'A book is the best tool to sharpen a dull mind', 'Knowledge is power, consider us your armory'.

The books scattered all over the city are donated from various publishers and authors. Weller Book Works is not only encouraging people to pick and read the books they find, but also spread it among others so that every one gets a chance to experience the joy of a book.

"So keep your eyes peeled because there are literally hundreds of great books out there just begging to be read and spread." they say. Here's how the fake book covers look like:
