Apps and software’s capable of stealing information from devices or at least forwarding it to someone else are available for nearly all platforms. With the launch of the new Windows Mobile 8, the firm claims to have made some major changes and fixes to the operating system which will greatly change the users’ experience for the better.
Though the upgrades that the OS has received also make it a whole lot more functional, this makes it a better target for Blackberry spy software or for anyone who is looking to steal more sensitive information.
Hardware improvements
This time Windows Mobile 8 will require newer updated phones to run on, the operating system can now work with multiple processors, much like its competitors. Even though Android and Apple have been working with these kinds of processors from Qualcomm for a while now, it will be a first for Windows but will certainly help improve the devices functionality over all. Now using dual core processors the devices will also have an improved visual interface. The new Windows OS will also have three screen resolution settings, the highest going as far as 720p at 1280x720 with a ratio of 16:9. One of the most helpful improvements will be the addition of a microSD slot. This will make it that much easier for user to transfer data or shift apps, create backups and things of that sort.
Better browsing
This is an important aspect of smart phones today as it is one of their main uses, browsing the web. Windows Mobile 8 will be equipped with Internet Explorer 10, the latest and greatest internet browser from Microsoft. Some tweaks and developments include greater HTML 5 support as the previous OS, nearly twice as much. There are also a number of features which are part of IE 10 which care very useful for example anti phishing filters which will protect you in real time while you browse the web. The firm also claims that IE 10 runs Java four times as fast as it predecessor.
NFC capabilities
This is something in which Microsoft seems to have surpassed its competitors. NFC technology availability is still not confirmed on the upcoming iPhone 5. With Windows Mobile 8 NFC comes as a standard features depending on whether or not your device is NFC capable, if it is, then you can make use of the Google Wallet app which also comes as standard on the new operating system. For some people this could be something worth considering and for others it may not be, but it is a feature you won’t find with too many other operating systems. It should also be kept in mind that NFC is not only restricted to mobile devices but can work with laptops, computers slates and nearly any device which can have an NFC chip installed on to it.
New mapping service
This time around Microsoft has decided to let go of Bing Maps and opt for the more efficient mapping technology offered by Nokia. The mapping app onboard the new OS features Nokia maps with a bunch of functions though missed out on a major feature being offered by other smart phone devices: 3D street view or at least 3D navigation.
