There is no doubt that Flickr is every photographers' favorite site, but it seems that Yahoo has not been paying enough attention to Flickr, specially for last couple of years.

To gain Marissa Mayer's attention, who has recently been appointed as the CEO of Yahoo, the Internet has requested her to 'make Flickr awesome again'.

A website called DearMarissaMayer.com started a campaign with the hope that maybe Yahoo will listen to their plea and divert their focus towards Flickr for a while.

The website is created by Sean Bonner, an entrepreneur from Los-Angeles; he has also created a Twitter hashtag that has gone pretty viral, specially by those who really wanna see a better and overhauled Flickr.

Here's what Bonner shared with Mashable:
"I've always loved Flickr since the beginning. After Yahoo bought them, they abandoned it, and it’s been falling apart and neglected ever since. I’m hopeful that Marissa Mayer could be a catalyst for change. I didn’t have her email address, so this was as great way to sound the bullhorn."

The best part about this campaign is that Flickr responded to this campaign, they created a new page on Flickr, which said: 'Dear Internet, come help us make Flickr awesomer."

Do notice the Flickr jobs link in the page!

Bonner was undoubtedly thrilled with the response, here's what he tweeted:

Let's just hope that Marissa Mayer does make an effort to hire new people for Flickr and make it awesomer. :)
