If you are interested in web comics, then you have come to the right place. I love to read web comics, partly because they have a distinctly nerdy aspect about them, partly because they are free, and mostly because I can start from the beginning and read all the way through on my breaks from work.
I mean, what more can you ask for, right? Well, here are my picks for the five best, most creative, and most fun to read web comics.
RockPaperCynic
This simple web comic is all about the one shot. With great comic takes on the latest in politics, current affairs, gaming, TV, and more, this comic is always a fun peek into what we are all thinking. There is some language use, so it is not recommended for children, but it has a blend of humor, sarcasm, and the occasional sweetness that will have you guessing what will be posted next. It is updated twice a week on Monday and Friday.
xkcd
Another great but simple web comic; xkcd is always in black and white, is only stick figures, but is the smartest web comic out there. Math, physics and programming geeks will get a kick out of the inside jokes, but almost anyone can relate to the sarcastic humor of the comic strip. For an additional treat, hover over the strip with your mouse to see the writer’s comments, often just as hilarious as the strip itself. It is updated three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
DarthsandDroids
This web comic is not so simple. With full color screen captures from Star Wars, this web comic is an ingenious retelling of the Star Wars saga as if it was played as a Dungeons and Dragons type game. Filled with great gamer and sci-fi humor, it is a blast starting from Episode I and working its way up. Twisting the genre, this comic makes JarJar Binks a genius played by a twelve year old, R2D2 a twisted pyromanic, and Qui-Gon a suicidal adventurer. This is not just for Star Wars fans, however, and consists of lots and lots of refrences to current events and an ongoing story line about the players behind the characters. Just a really fun read. It is updated three times a week on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Goblins
Now, to take a break from the smart, sarcastic comics, we turn to an action-adventure type. With full color illustrations and an awesome story line arc, Goblins focus on the typical bad guys of film, TV, and games in a whole new way. Goblins as good guys set on a quest to avenge their slain brothers. Add to this the rouge, dwarf, and drakaina adventuring band sub-plot and you’ve got a heck of a story filled with love, humor, romance, friendship, revenge, and plenty of death. Blood and gore make up a lot of the battle scenes, so this definitely isn’t a comic for the faint of heart. It is updated twice a week on Tuesday and Friday.
Two Kinds
This web comic is an adventure and love story between a blue-haired human with magic powers and a part-human part-tiger. With subtexts of racism and great story lines delving into the mysterious background of the amnesiatic human, this web comic is strangely addictive. Follow the pair around their world as they make new friends, new enemies, and try to find peace. It is updated twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday.
These are just the tip of the web comic iceberg! There are so many great web comics out there, both current and archived. No matter what your tastes run towards, you can find one that you will fall in love with and anxiously await updates from. If you want a sampling of what web comics are currently hot you can visit topwebcomics.com or search on your own. Happy reading!

Just wanted to mention that it's either shows as "XKCD" if you -need- to capitalize, but the proper form is merely "xkcd"
rouge is makeup.
rogue is a thief (amoung other things).
I'm fairly sure that none of the characters in goblins are designed to bring color to anyones cheeks.
The pic for Goblins is a guest comic, not a comic by the regular author/artist.
Also, the guy with the dwarf and snake-lady is a warrior, not a rogue.
The Goblin's image is of a guest comic. While that artist is good it isn't an accurate representation of Thunt's (stunning) artwork.
This is correct-- the one shown here is a guest comic, and therefore isn't actually a great representation of the comic itself, while still good.
Ms. Parker's description of Goblins (and use of a guest strip for a sample) suggests to me that she doesn't actually read Goblins.
Okay, no. :I TwoKinds gets listed as "creative" but with no mention of Homestuck. I'mma callin' bull.
haha good to know research was done (jk). That is a guest strip for goblins not the actual comic. It was even announced before the posting of the guest strip in question.
It has been edited, thanks for letting us know. :)
Commenting on the goblins description
What is a drakaina? are you referring to Kin the yuin-tai half blood?
and a rouge? nope none of that party is a rouge or a rogue.
Not only that but the image is not actually a part of the comic, the image shown here isn't even Thunts work.
Definitely not someone who actually reads Goblin.
